Stonecutter wins BCO award
We are thrilled to have won the Best Commercial Workplace British Council for Offices London Award for Stonecutter in Farringdon.
Designed by tp bennett and developed by CO-RE for La Caisse and PIMCO Prime Real Estate, Stonecutter is a landmark new office building in the City of London, providing a progressive response to the evolving demands of modern occupiers.
The project reimagines an entire urban block within the Fleet Street Quarter to deliver 240,000 sq ft of sustainable, amenity-rich workspace. With an embodied carbon figure of 581 kg CO₂e/m² – surpassing the London Plan’s aspirational target – it is the first new build in the Square Mile to achieve the City of London’s ‘Aspirational’ target for as-built embodied carbon.
Stonecutter’s design responds to its context, referencing Hatton Garden’s diamond cutting heritage, while offering large open floor plates, floor-to-ceiling windows and roof terraces with exceptional city views. A truly connected building, Stonecutter is designed to accommodate future technological advancements.
The scheme also enhances the public realm, with a new pocket park, retail pavilion, and the integration of a Grade II listed public house, and has achieved a net social value of £37.6million.
Fully let ahead of completion to tenants including Travers Smith and Trainline, the building demonstrates strong demand for well-connected, high-performing workspace in central London.
