Stonecutter continues to set the standard for sustainable office buildings in London, having been shortlisted at the Property Week Sustainable Real Estate Awards.

The building achieved the lowest embodied carbon figure of any major new-build in the City of London, minimising the emissions associated with producing, transporting and assembling construction materials.

This includes measures such as reusing 70% of the site's existing foundations, using recycled steel that produces around a third of the carbon emissions compared to new steel, and using concrete which is mixed with up to 60% sustainable materials instead of traditional cement.

The building also operates without relying on fossil fuels, using all-electric systems which take power from entirely renewable sources.

Stonecutter demonstrates how ambitious sustainability and exceptional workspace design can go hand in hand. A fantastic achievement and a testament to the collaboration and expertise of the entire project team, including TP Bennett, Thornton Tomasetti and Mace.
