Building futures at Stonecutter: Showcase of Green Construction Skills students’ artwork
Stonecutter isn’t just a building, it’s a community.
During construction, we welcomed more than 1,000 students through STEM visits and supported 16 apprenticeships and six work placements, with many progressing into full-time roles.
Now, that connection continues beyond completion. The gallery wall within Stonecutter’s reception is currently showcasing artwork by the first cohort of the Green Construction Skills programme, delivered with The King’s Trust and The Fleot.
It’s a full-circle moment, with students who first visited Stonecutter during construction returning to see the finished building, and their work now forming part of the arrival experience and identity of the space.
As Alex Thorpe, Associate Director at CO—RE, said:
“This private view was a fantastic opportunity to share in the success of the building with the students we hope to inspire to enter the construction industry.”
A proud moment for everyone involved, and a reminder that great buildings should leave a positive impact far beyond the physical.
Our thanks to The Fleot, Jo Tasker, The King’s Trust and the wider project team for making it happen.
